Alabama vs. Tennessee: Bulletin Board material for Vol Nation

Earlier this week, a quote from Alabama head coach Kalen Deboer about the expected crowd at Neyland Stadium this weekend made the rounds on Vol Twitter. "I coached at Washington, I know loud. With all due respect to their fans, but I don't see the noise being an issue on Saturday."

Vol Nation rightfully vowed to turn it up to 11 after seeing the quote, but it was later discovered to be a fake video. However, today Alabama WR coach Jemarcus Shephard said “The crowd noise, to me, is the same thing as if it was raining or thunderstorming out there….The environment should not affect us as an offense.”

It seems like the Universe wants an Alabama coach to put out bulletin board material for Tennessee fans. It’s not like any extra motivation would’ve been needed either. ‘The third Saturday in October” is always special and whoever is at home always enjoys a significant home-field advantage in this rivalry. This just guarantees a little something extra from an always electric Neyland Stadium crowd on Saturday afternoon, and for Shephard to compare it to a damn thunderstorm is laughable.

Tennessee fans will show him that a thunderstorm is not a very good comparison to what the Crimson Tide offense will be dealing with, but let’s hope the team shows out as much as the fans will.
