2025 Recruiting: Checking in on the Vols

The Tennessee Vols ended the 2024 recruiting cycle with the No. 13 overall class per 247Sports. The team is taking that momentum into 2025, as next year’s class has some notable talent thus far. As of now, Tennessee has six commits and is sitting at No. 12 in the 2025 recruiting rankings. The class is headlined by 5-star in-state QB George MacIntyre. Since MacIntyre committed in January, tons of highly touted recruits have been scheduling visits to Ole Rocky Top to scope things out. Below I’ve listed some of the top recruits that have scheduled visits. Some of these players have even explicitly pointed to Tennessee as their preferred school.

2025 Prospects with scheduled visits

5-Star OT David Sanders Jr., 6’6”, 270lbs.- No. 2 player in the country and No. 1 tackle. Tennessee makes 6-team cut.

4-Star DL Ethan Utley, 6’4”, 270lbs.- No. 161 player nationally and the No. 19 DL. Utley is a huge in-state target that Heupel has to land, and Utley has scheduled his official visit for March 28th.

4-Star WR Travis Smith Jr., 6’4”, 191lbs.- No. 146 player nationally and the No. 19 WR. Smith has announced an unofficial visit to Tennessee and told reporters he believes the Vols’ offense is the unit he would “gel into easiest”.

5-Star WR Jaime Ffrench, 6’1”, 185 lbs.- No 16 player nationally and the No. 3 WR. Ffrench, recently decommitted from Alabama and Tennessee has slid into the recruitment list and gets a visit on April 8th.
