Tennessee vs. Texas A&M: Revenge game incoming?

The No. 5 Tennessee Volunteers (20-6, 10-3 SEC) take on Texas A&M (15-11, 6-7) at home this Saturday and are looking for revenge after losing in College Station. And, right now is as good a time as any with the Aggies on a 3-game losing streak.

Tennessee needs more consistency

The Vols have been consistent with one thing all year, and that's being wildly inconsistent. After blowing out Kentucky, Arkansas, and Vanderbilt, the Vols trailed Missouri by 3 points at half time and couldn’t pull ahead for much of the game. Missouri hasn’t won a single SEC game but they might have if Dalton Knecht didn’t get hot in the last minutes of the game.

Jonas Aidoo and Zakai Zeigler are going to have to step up in this game. Aidoo has to help the defense and beat the other team on rebounding. And Zeigler needs to set the pace and clamp down on defense. Knecht will be Knecht and have a big night but he can’t win this game alone.

But, the Vols found a way to win in Columbia, and like all the other bad games played this year, the Vols will rebound with a big game.

Aggies on a 3-game skid

Since the last time Tennessee and Texas A&M played, the Aggies have fallen apart including a loss to Vanderbilt. The Aggies are only shooting 35.59% from the field, and a measly 23.7% 3-pointers in the last two games. But, what they do well at is rebounding, specifically offensive rebounds. If they can get hot again and get enough second-chance shots they can do some damage and possibly sweep the season series with the Vols.

Score Prediction:

Tennessee 82, Texas A&M 69: The Vols set the pace early and shut down the Aggies with a typical Rick Barnes defense and compete with the board. Vols dominate in the second half and get that sweet revenge.
