Philadelphia Eagles trade for Titans’ Kevin Byard: Instant reaction

Breaking news: Per Ian Rapoport, the Tennessee Titans have agreed to trade Kevin Byard to the Philadelphia Eagles for a 5th-round pick, a 6th-round pick, and safety Terrell Edmunds.

This move is somewhat shocking, as much of the Titans’ trade discussion had centered around Derrick Henry. Clearly, the Titans are now officially rebuilding. Expect to see solid veterans like Denico Autry, Derrick Henry, and even DeAndre Hopkins be shopped in the coming days.

On the field, Byard had clearly lost a step compared to his previous form. The safety has been targeted 21 times this season and allowed 15 catches, with 0 interceptions.

This move makes sense for both sides. The Titans get younger and free up some money, and the Eagles get a solid veteran to fill a void.

Be sure to stay tuned for any more trade rumblings in the Music City.
