Mike Vrabel: Do not pass go, do not collect $200

The Tennessee Titans took a thumping on Sunday in Jacksonville, losing by 20 and looking atrocious in the process. There was absolutely no offense to bail out the defense that played just as bad. And now the question arises: With a full rebuild scheduled for next year, should Vrabel skip the hot seat and go straight to the can? Will the Patriots even be interested in a trade if the rumors were ever true?

The Titans’ offense is averaging a measly 16.8 points a game.To be fair, a lot of the has more to do with the lack of talent than coaching. But, Vrabel is not making any changes as this has been stagnant for a little over two years now. And, in that span Titans have gone 10-17 over two seasons and 3-15 in the last 18 games. The Titans aren’t descending, they’ve crashed and burned and Vrabel may be a part of the causalities this off-season. But should he be?

Let’s see how this season ends, and if Vrabel can adapt a new scheme to his new quarterback. For now Vrabel is on the hot seat, and his job could be on the line depending on how abysmal the team looks from here on out. If they graciously fall and pick up draft equity, he may deserve another season. But, if he stays hard-headed and refuses change then the titans should be in the market for a new head coach and staff.
