Tennessee Titans make splash on first day of free agency
2024 NFL free agency doesn’t technically begin until Wednesday, March 13th, at 4 p.m. ET. However, as of Monday, teams can negotiate with players and come to agreements. The Tennessee Titans have wasted no time, as reports have come out about the team inking two players.
Per reports, running back Tony Pollard and center Lloyd Cushenberry have agreed to terms with the Titans.
We know that Pollard’s deal is for three years and $24 million, so an average of $8 million per year. We are still waiting on the details of Cushenberry’s deal.
The Pollard signing is a surprise to me. I had already accepted that Derrick Henry was not coming back, but I didn’t expect the team to prioritize adding a different running back. Still, I am okay with the financials of Pollard’s deal, and he’s a good player who will help out in the passing game as well.
Cushenberry was one of my favorite targets. The center is as reliable as they come and is one of just six centers to allow one or fewer sacks while playing 1,000+ snaps. Cushenberry is an instant upgrade to this line, and this signing means Aaron Brewer is gone as well.
We will have more as the week goes on and we learn details. For now, it’s hard not to be satisfied with the way the Titans have started free agency.
