Post Game Reaction — The Titans Are a National Embarrassment After Losing to the Colts
The Tennessee Titans once again embarrassed themselves again on Sunday after losing 38-30. After going up 7-0 early it was all Indianapolis against the soft Titans defense. Yes, soft, and that may be too gracious of a word. Coach Callahan talked a big game this week telling Tennessee reporters that his team wasn’t soft. Unfortunately, the Titans played like the worst defense in the league allowing the Colts to hit big play after big play as Jonathan Taylor went untouched on two of his touchdowns today. The game was over shortly after halftime as Taylor scampered 70 yards for a touchdown. The Titans are one of the worst teams in the league and they’re being led to the slaughter week in and week out. However, the Titans did manage to add some drama late but by then it was only a matter of time before the Titans ultimately lost.
Coach Callahan has to be fired. This was an inexcusable display for a national football team. How many more games does it take for Amy Adams Strunk to see that this is one of the most non-competitive teams not only in the league but perhaps in history of the Oilers franchise. the Titans have lost 7 games by 10 or more. More than haf their games they’re uncompetitive. That is whole heartedly on the Titans head coach. Callahan has proven one thing this year. He’s consistently coaching an uncompetitive team. The penalties, the turnovers, the poor game planning, the poor in-game adjustments all fall on Coach Callahan. Callahan was specifically borught in to make Will Levis better and to help this team be competitive. He has failed tremendously in both categories. There has been more than enough evidence to cite that Callahan is wholly inept to continue coaching this team and he has showed nothing to give faith that he can develop the next QB for the Titans. Both sides of the ball today were awful. The Titans gave up over 300 yards rushing the ball and the offense only started scoring in garbage time…which happened to start at 14 min left in the 3rd quarter.
The QB switch made earlier in the week didn’t quite give the spark the Titans would have wanted. Rudolph threw 2 bad interceptions — one of which was the last play of the game. He did have the early bomb to Ridley but outside of that until it was garbage time Rudolph didn’t do much else that would give the team confidence in him going into 2025 if that’s even a possibility. Tyjae Spears had one heck of a game with 2 TDs even though he only had 56 total yards of offense. Spears might earn himself the ability to start over the next 2 games. The Titans ought to give Spears a shot to see how he performs as RB1 the rest of the way.
What’s Next:
The Titans are currently slated to have a top 3 pick thanks to Carolina. if the Raiders, or Giants win at all and the Titans lose out then WATCH OUT the Titans could end up with the top pick in the draft. We’ll see…but for now the Titans take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in a rematch from a 10-6 game that was one of the worst in franchise history.
